Pip value = (One Pip / Exchange Rate) Γ Lot Size. For a standard lot of EUR/USD at 1.0850: (0.0001 / 1.0850) Γ 100,000 = $9.22 per pip. Our calculator does this automatically with live rates.
Pip value varies because it depends on the quote currency and current exchange rate. When USD is the quote currency, a standard lot pip value is always $10. For other quote currencies, the pip value must be converted using the current exchange rate.
A standard lot = 100,000 units (pip value β $10). A mini lot = 10,000 units (pip value β $1). A micro lot = 1,000 units (pip value β $0.10). Smaller lot sizes allow for better risk management, especially for smaller accounts.
