Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi have engaged in discussions regarding an “interim framework” aimed at restoring safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. A joint statement released on Tuesday indicated that the initiative seeks to establish a temporary joint maritime corridor and a project for mine clearance in the critical waterway. Further talks are anticipated within 30 to 60 days to negotiate a new permanent route.
