- Q3 profit was CHF 19.1 billion; SNB warns of strong result volatility
The Swiss National Bank reported a profit of CHF 44.2 billion for the first nine months of 2026 in its interim results as at 30 September. Foreign currency positions contributed CHF 43.3 billion, while gold holdings added a valuation gain of CHF 1.2 billion. Positions in Swiss francs generated a smaller profit of CHF 0.1 billion.
CNBC reported that the third-quarter profit was CHF 19.1 billion (about $23.3 billion), which lifted the year-to-date total to the stated level. The SNB cautioned that its results depend heavily on gold, foreign exchange and capital market developments. Strong fluctuations are therefore to be expected, and only provisional conclusions can be drawn about the full-year result.
