The latest US Unemployment Claims report showed 215000K new claims for the week ending July 9, 2026. This figure came in significantly above the consensus estimate of 218K. The previous week’s claims were reported at 215K. The actual print represents a 98523.9% surprise compared to the consensus forecast.

Following the release, EURUSD moved -0.4 pips after 5 minutes and -4.1 pips after 15 minutes, before trading +1.8 pips one hour post-release.
