Germany’s Unemployment Change registered an increase of 4K for August, according to data released today. This figure came in above the market consensus expectation of an increase of 1K. The previous month’s reading was an increase of 6K. The actual print represents a 300.0% surprise compared to the consensus forecast.

Following the release, the euro showed varied movements against major currencies over the initial 15 minutes. EURAUD gained 5.3 pips, while EURCAD declined 0.8 pips.
