Australia’s Unemployment Rate for July 2026 came in at 4.4%, against a consensus expectation of 4.5%. This actual figure was unchanged from the previous month’s 4.4%. The print represented a -2.2% surprise compared to the consensus forecast.

Following the release, the Australian dollar showed strength against several major pairs. AUDCAD traded +34 pips higher 15 minutes after the release, exceeding its median 1-hour move of 17 pips.
