Gold Reflex EA is an automated scalping robot for MetaTrader 5 (MT5) that trades XAUUSD (gold) from the M15 chart. It places pending stop orders around price, and when a fast move triggers one, it closes the position again within seconds. This 2026 review covers what the EA actually does under the hood, what its public live signal shows, a real-tick backtest we ran ourselves over the identical window, and a free download link.

Gold Reflex EA is our house name for the system sold as TwisterPro Scalper EA, so the live signal screenshots below carry that original name. The seller describes it as a high-precision M15 scalper where every entry passes “5 independent validation layers.” We read the trade log from our own test instead of the sales copy, and the mechanics turned out to be quite different from that description.

TL;DR – Free MT5 gold scalper. Pending stop orders, a hard stop loss on every trade, no grid, no martingale, and almost no time in the market. Our own backtest confirms the edge. Needs a raw spread account and a VPS, and turn the 7% default risk down before you go live.

What Is Gold Reflex EA?

Gold Reflex EA is a free MetaTrader 5 expert advisor that scalps XAUUSD by placing buy stop and sell stop orders at a distance from current price. When a sharp move triggers one, a tight trailing stop takes the position out, usually within a few seconds. Every trade carries a real broker-side stop loss, and the EA holds only one position at a time.

That definition matters more than usual here, because the strategy type drives everything else in this review. A system whose average trade lasts under a minute is not really trading a timeframe. It is trading execution.

Core Strategy and Logic

We ran the EA on a Tickmill demo with 100% real-tick history, then read the raw order and deal log rather than the summary. The picture that came out is quite different from the marketing description.

  • Pending stop order entry – The EA does not enter at market. Over our test it placed 82 pending stop orders: 52 filled, 16 expired untouched, 14 were cancelled. It parks an order and waits for price to come and take it.
  • A fixed stop and a fixed target – Every single pending order in the log used the same distances: a stop loss $8.50 away and a take profit $31.64 away, a 3.7:1 reward-to-risk ratio on paper.
  • The take profit is never reached – All 52 closed trades exited on the stop loss, not the target. Not one take profit was hit. The $31.64 target is effectively decoration.
  • A near-instant trailing stop – What closes the trades is the stop being trailed up behind the move within a second or two of entry. Average profit came out at $2.04 against that $31.64 target.
  • One position at a time – No stacking, no averaging, no recovery multiplier. Losses are taken and booked.
  • No session filter – Entries appeared in all 24 server hours of the day, spread across Asia, Europe and the US sessions.
  • Short-biased placement – The EA placed 52 sell stops against 30 buy stops over the window.

The headline finding is the holding time. In our test the median trade lasted 1 second, the average was 15 seconds, and 45 of the 52 trades were opened and closed inside 10 seconds. The longest trade of the whole test ran 8 minutes 26 seconds, and it was the single biggest loser.

So the “M15 timeframe” only sets the pace at which the EA refreshes its pending orders. The trade itself is a reflex, which is where our house name comes from. This is close cousin to the mechanic in the ForexCracked Gold Strike EA, another XAUUSD system that pairs pending stop entries with an aggressive tick-by-tick trail. It is the opposite design to a recovery system like the XAUUSD Trend Grid EA, which holds losers and averages into them.

Key Features of Gold Reflex EA

  • Platform – MetaTrader 5 only. There is no MT4 build.
  • Asset and timeframe – XAUUSD on M15.
  • Two modes – Mode 1 is the default, with fewer and more selective trades. Mode 2 uses a much shorter stop loss and trades more often. All data in this review is Mode 1, which is what the live signal runs.
  • Risk sizing – Either a fixed lot or a percentage-risk auto lot.
  • Drawdown protection – An optional module that halves the lot size after a run of consecutive losses. It is switched off by default.
  • On-chart panel – A status panel and profit labels can be shown or hidden.

These are the inputs from our test, taken straight from the EA’s default set.

Please test in a demo account first for at least a week. Also, please familiarize yourself and understand how this MT5 Gold Robot works, then only use it in a real account.

Recommendations

  • Minimum account balance of $100. $250 or more is sensible.
  • Works on XAUUSD only. It was designed and tested for gold.
  • It works best on the M15 timeframe.
  • Gold Reflex EA should run on a VPS continuously to reach stable results. So we recommend running this gold scalper on a reliable VPS (Reliable and Trusted FOREX VPS – FXVM).
  • A raw spread or ECN account is not optional here, it is the strategy. The system is optimized for a short broker list (Exness, Vantage, Fusion Markets, XM and a few others)

Performance Review: Live Signal and Our Own Backtest

There are two data sources here. The first is the seller’s public MQL5 signal, running Mode 1 on a real Exness account at 1:500 leverage since 9 March 2026. The second is a backtest we ran ourselves on a Tickmill demo with 100% real-tick quality, over the identical window (2026.03.09 to 2026.07.11), on the same Mode 1 defaults, with a fixed 0.01 lot instead of auto-lot so the risk stays flat.

Before the numbers, the honest caveat. This is not a one-to-one replica. The live account took a mid-period deposit of $116.22, may have had setting changes, and pays real slippage and spread that a tester models imperfectly. Treat our backtest as a clean fixed-lot reference for how the strategy behaves, not as a prediction of the live curve.

1. The Backtest Confirms the Live Signal

This is the most useful thing in the review. Two independent runs on different brokers, over the same four months, produced 54 and 52 trades, an 88.9% and 82.7% win rate, and a 7.72 and 6.97 profit factor. Drawdown stayed in single digits in both.

That agreement means the live signal is doing roughly what the strategy does in a clean test. It is not leaning on a hidden setting, a cherry-picked window, or a martingale that has not blown up yet. The edge, over these four months, was real.

Our backtest balance curve. XAUUSD M15, Tickmill demo, 100% real-tick quality, fixed 0.01 lot, $200 start, 9 Mar to 11 Jul 2026. A steady staircase with one visible dip, which is the flat May.

2. What the Headline Growth Number Hides

The signal page leads with 97.24% growth, a figure inflated by the compounding auto-lot and by the mid-period deposit. The cleaner reading is $256.00 of net profit against $316.99 of total capital deposited, which is about 81% over four months. Still strong, and still not the number on the page.

Our fixed-lot backtest returned $76.18 on $200, or 38% over the same window, at the smallest lot the platform allows. The gap between 38% and 81% is not a better strategy. It is the auto-lot compounding position size as the balance grows, and that dial belongs to you.

3. Where the Real Risk Sits

Both records show tiny drawdowns: 6.40% live, 3.45% in our test. The reason is not clever risk management. It is that the account is almost never exposed. MQL5 puts trading activity at 0.04% and maximum deposit load at 5.44%, consistent with 54 trades averaging 48 seconds each. Across four months, the live account spent well under an hour with a position open.

gold-reflex-ea-backtest-holding-time-seconds-xauusd-m15-ForexCracked.com
Profit against holding time, from our backtest. Every trade collapses onto the left edge, and the only one that ran long, out at 506 seconds, is the biggest loss on the chart. When this EA is right it is right immediately, and when a trade lingers, it is going wrong.

The risk is somewhere else. The live account’s average loss ($6.35) is slightly larger than its average win ($6.13), so the entire result rests on the 88.9% win rate holding up. Run the arithmetic and the live configuration breaks even at a win rate of about 51%. Our fixed-lot backtest is far more forgiving, breaking even at about 38%, because there the average win is bigger than the average loss.

Then there are the defaults. RiskPercent ships at 7.0, the drawdown protection module ships disabled, and the daily loss cap ships at zero. Four losing trades in a row at 7% risk is a 25% drawdown. The live account’s longest losing streak so far is one, and our backtest’s was two, so this scenario has simply never been tested. The safety net exists in the code. It is just switched off.

Full live statistics, captured 2026-07-11. Note the two rows that matter most and get the least attention: 54 trades, and an average loss slightly above the average profit.

4. The Sample Is Too Small to Trust

A 7.72 profit factor is an extraordinary number. It is also drawn from 54 trades over four months, at 2 trades per week, which is nowhere near enough to separate a durable edge from a good run in a friendly market.

For scale, the Gold Strike EA’s breakout record covers roughly 3,500 live trades and reports a 1.66 profit factor with a 21% drawdown. That lower number carries far more weight than this higher one, because it survived 65 times more trades. Our own backtest hints at where the shine comes off: May 2026 finished flat, 7 wins in 12 trades for a net of minus twelve cents, which is what an ordinary month looks like once the easy moves stop appearing.

One more open question. MQL5 reports “Algo trading” on this signal at 12%. On an account advertised as running a fully automatic EA, you would expect that figure to be much higher. The likeliest explanation is technical, since every position here is closed by its stop loss rather than by a command from the EA, so most closing deals are not tagged as expert actions. We cannot verify that from outside the account, and it is a fair question to put to the seller.

Trade excursions from our backtest. The upper chart is the interesting one: profit tracks maximum favourable excursion almost exactly along the diagonal, meaning the trailing stop gives back very little of what a trade earns. It is an efficient exit, applied to small moves.

Gold Reflex EA

Gold Reflex EA

A free MT5 XAUUSD scalper that parks pending stop orders and exits within seconds on a trailing stop. High win rate, tiny drawdown, short track record.

Entry Precision
Risk Control
Setup Requirements

Pros

  • Hard stop loss on every trade, no grid, no martingale
  • Our matched-window backtest lines up closely with the live signal
  • Maximum drawdown under 7% live and under 4% in our test
  • Almost no market exposure, so gap and swap risk are minimal

Cons

  • Only 54 live trades over 4 months, far too small a sample to lean on
  • Ships with RiskPercent at 7.0 and drawdown protection turned off
  • Median trade lasts about 1 second, so slippage and latency decide results
  • Live average loss is slightly bigger than live average win

Summary

4.2

Gold Reflex EA stays out of the market almost all the time, strikes on a fast gold move, and closes within seconds. It is cleanly built: it declines far more trades than it takes, puts a hard stop on every one it does take, and never averages down. Our own real-tick backtest reproduced the live signal closely over the same four months, so the edge looks real rather than an artefact. Run it on a raw spread account with a VPS, turn the 7% default risk down, and it is one of the better free gold scalpers we have tested.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The public MQL5 signal shows $256 of net profit on $316.99 of deposits between March and July 2026, with an 88.9% win rate and a 6.4% maximum drawdown. Our own backtest over the same window returned 38% at a fixed 0.01 lot. It has been profitable, but across only 54 live trades.
No. It trades one position at a time with a real broker-side stop loss $8.50 away, and it never averages down or adds to a loser. The optional drawdown module reduces lot size after consecutive losses rather than increasing it.
The EA runs on $100, and $250 or more is the sensible starting point. Because the default RiskPercent is 7.0, a small account can take a meaningful hit from a short losing streak, so lower that value before going live.
Yes, and it matters more here than for most robots. The median trade in our test lasted about one second, so latency and slippage directly decide whether a trade wins. A VPS near your broker’s servers and a raw spread account are prerequisites, not upgrades.

Conclusion

Gold Reflex EA is an honestly built gold scalper, and our real-tick backtest over the same four months as the live signal produced a matching win rate, a matching profit factor and a matching drawdown, which is more verification than most free EAs can offer. However, the record is only 54 trades deep, the strategy’s whole result depends on a win rate that has never yet been stress-tested by a losing streak, and the EA ships with 7% risk and its own safety module turned off. Download it, run it on demo, turn the risk down, and judge it again in a year. As a free XAUUSD scalper for a trader with a raw spread account and a VPS it is worth the test, but the numbers on the signal page are not yet numbers you should size up against.
