A scalper EA is an automated trading robot that opens and closes trades quickly, usually within minutes. It aims for small profits (5-20 pips) on many trades rather than large gains on fewer trades.

Look for ECN/STP brokers with spreads under 1 pip on major pairs, fast execution (under 50ms), and no restrictions on scalping. Avoid brokers with wide spreads or dealing desk execution.

Most scalper EAs work on M1 (1-minute) to M15 (15-minute) charts. M1 is fastest but requires ultra-low spreads. M5 offers a good balance of speed and spread tolerance.

Scalping has moderate risk. While individual trades have small targets, the high frequency means losses can accumulate quickly if the strategy fails. Always use proper lot sizing and test on demo first.

Most scalpers perform best during active sessions (London and New York overlap). Night scalpers specifically target the quiet Asian session when spreads are stable and volatility is low.
