An SMC (Smart Money Concepts) indicator for MetaTrader 4 marks the price levels where institutional traders likely placed orders — order blocks, fair value gaps, liquidity zones, and breaks of structure. It does not predict price, it visualises footprint left by large players so retail traders can plan entries around the same levels.
Yes. Every SMC indicator on this page is free to download for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. No paid licence, no demo trial expiry. Some originated as paid tools from third-party developers and were independently rebuilt as free .ex4 / .ex5 files for the FC library.
The Order Blocks Indicator and Market Structure Oscillator are the two most consistent on H1 and above. Both lock signals on closed bars so they do not repaint, and both work on XAUUSD, EURUSD, GBPUSD, and major index CFDs without parameter tuning.
A correctly built SMC indicator does not repaint — order blocks are confirmed only after a break of structure forms, and FVGs are drawn only after three completed candles. If an indicator redraws signals on historical bars, it is not following SMC logic and should be discarded.
Most SMC indicators in this archive ship as both .ex4 (MT4) and .ex5 (MT5) files in the same download. Files marked "MT4 only" need a manual port — usually 30 minutes of MQL5 conversion work using the original source.
H4 and H1 are the most reliable for SMC because order blocks form on institutional time horizons. Lower timeframes (M5/M15) work for entry refinement but produce too much noise to use as primary structure. Mark structure on H4, drop to M15 for entry trigger.
